unique Yellow Duckmarine tour - nothing comes close to this
nautical adventure!
The Yellow Duckmarine is a converted WWII DUKW amphibious landing
craft, which is now a unique 24-30-seat sightseeing tour vehicle.
The Duck takes you on an hour long tour of the city,
Liverpool's World Heritage waterfront and docklands, punctuated
by a fun commentary from your tour guide and captain.
The amphibious craft begins with a 30-minute tour of the city,
taking in many of the main architectural sights. Landmarks include
the impressive Pier Head, Mathew Street (home of the Beatles'
breakthrough venue, the Cavern Club), St Georges Hall, both the
Anglican and Metropolitan Cathedrals, the Philharmonic Hall,
Chinese Arch and much more along the way.
Then you'll return to the docks for the Duck's famous
'splashdown', driving dramatically straight from
the road, down the slipway and splashing into Salthouse Dock.
You'll cruise through five of Liverpool's historic docks,
learning about Liverpool's maritime history and seeing the
gargantuan listed warehouses, now converted into luxury apartments.
You'll travel through Salthouse, Wapping, Queens and Coburg
docks, and then back for a circle of the Albert Dock before exiting
the water the same way you came in.
The Yellow Duckmarine is a fun, informative and unforgettable tour
that all ages can enjoy.
Tours depart regularly all year round, from 10.30am or 11.00am.
During quiet times tours run every 75 minutes, and during busy
periods every 15 to 30 minutes.
