The renaissance of the Albert Dock began in 1982, when the Arrowcroft Group began its refurbishment through its subsidiary, the Albert Dock Company Ltd. Following the initial planning stage, work began in 1983 and the first phase was opened in 1984, in time for the arrival of the Tall Ships Race and the International Garden Festival.
Today, the Albert Dock Company is responsible for the commercial spaces at the Dock, letting and managing the Dock’s estate, leasing commercial space, retail shops and office accommodation. It’s also responsible for marketing and promoting the Albert Dock as a destination locally, regionally, nationally and internationally.
Arrowcroft Holdings Ltd is one of the largest privately-owned property companies in the UK: its development and investment interests cover retail, leisure, industrial and commercial properties across the country. Arrowcroft Holdings’ philosophy is for professional in-depth management by a dedicated team. The group’s directors and executives include specialists in every aspect of development, finance investment, marketing, management and administration, helping to maximise capital growth for institutions, local authorities and landowners.
Albert Dock Company works together with British Waterways, which looks after the water surrounding the Albert Dock, and Gower Street Estates, which is in charge of all external areas of the estate.
